The National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER) of the Republic of Korea and the Acid Deposition Monitoring Network in East Asia (EANET) have collaborated since 2023 on a Technical and Training (TNT) Capacity Building Program. This initiative aims to enhance the skills of government officials and researchers from EANET participating countries in monitoring and managing acid deposition and air quality. The program is structured into two annual sessions, each divided into two parts, alternating between the Republic of Korea and Japan. Training topics include various aspects of acid deposition monitoring, quality assurance and quality control activities, laboratory sample analysis, data analysis and reporting, air pollution management and control, and air quality forecasting. Participants are selected based on their professional backgrounds, technical involvement in monitoring activities, and motivation. The program is co-funded by the EANET Project Fund and the Republic of Korea.
