The "Promoting VOCs Related Capacity Building in the EANET" portal, led by the Acid Deposition Monitoring Network in East Asia (EANET), aims to enhance the capacity of participating countries to monitor and manage Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), which contribute to air pollution, PM2.5, and ozone formation. Due to the complexity and high costs of VOC monitoring, the project began with a feasibility study in 2023 and will run full-scale activities from 2024 to 2026. It collaborates with pilot cities in Mongolia, the Philippines, Cambodia, and Viet Nam, supported by organizations from Japan, China, and Germany. The project focuses on assessing VOC monitoring capabilities, building technical capacity, and developing policy recommendations for better VOC management. Ultimately, the lessons learned will benefit other cities across the EANET region, contributing to improved air quality management.
