This report presents an in-depth analysis of air pollution management in Bangladesh, focusing on the assessment of current policies, legal frameworks, and technological capabilities. The study, conducted in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), evaluates key air pollution sources, including industrial emissions, brick kilns, vehicular pollutants, and transboundary pollution. It also examines the effectiveness of air quality monitoring systems, the role of regulatory institutions, and the challenges in policy implementation. Comparative case studies from countries with successful air pollution control measures are included to identify best practices applicable to Bangladesh. Additionally, the report outlines proposed interventions and technical cooperation frameworks aimed at improving air quality through enhanced monitoring, regulatory reforms, and stakeholder engagement. The findings underscore the need for integrated, science-based strategies to mitigate air pollution and promote sustainable environmental policies in Bangladesh.
