JICA has supported its partner countries in the field of environmental management. JICA's Environmental Management Cluster Strategy aims to prevent environmental pollution, including air pollution, before it occurs, and when pollution does occur, to identify the pollution situation and its sources based on scientific evidence, and to formulate and implement regulations and pollution control measures to reduce environmental impact. Furthermore, the Strategy intends to strengthen the effectiveness of environmental regulations and pollution control measures to realize sound environmental quality and to promote environmental sustainability across society.
