OMI, aboard NASA's Aura satellite, measures atmospheric constituents related to air quality and ozone depletion, including nitrogen dioxide (NO2), sulfur dioxide (SO2), and ozone (O3). It provides daily global maps of pollutants, enabling the monitoring of air pollution events and long-term trends. OMI data supports studies of air quality, climate change, and stratospheric ozone recovery.
